Learning at ISA
An IB World School
For 60 years, the International School of Amsterdam has been a leader in providing education for international understanding.
We offer an internationally accredited programme that provides students from ages two to eighteen with a student-centered curriculum which recognises diverse learning styles, preferences and individual needs. By integrating traditional academic subjects with the latest methodologies and technologies, we are able to move beyond conventional classroom teaching to ensure our students meet their full potential on the path to lifelong learning.
ISA was the first school in the world authorised to teach a complete IB curriculum, which is taught at more than 3,900 schools in over 140 countries. The IB organisation offers diploma and certificate programmes – global symbols of academic integrity and intellectual promise.
Our curriculum is firmly grounded on the principles of the International Baccalaureate’s (IB) three programmes—the Primary Years (ages 3-11), the Middle Years (ages 11-16) and the Diploma Years programmes (16-18), allowing our students to benefit from a continuum of education from pre-school through highschool, while also offering flexibility to best reflect the particular needs of our internationally-mobile students.
We are an international community of learners, comprised of students, faculty and staff from over 52 countries. Our small student-teacher ratios provide a safe environment for students to become fully engaged in learning and inquiry, growing both intellectually and emotionally.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB)
The IB Learner Profile asks students to lead a balanced life, to be thinkers and communicators, to act in a principled manner with open-minds and caring hearts. IB students learn to be risk-takers while giving thoughtful consideration to their own learning and the impact they have on their community, their environment and on humanity.
ISA offers the International Baccalaureate® (IB) to support a continuum of education for our internationally mobile students.
