SHARE
Education through international understanding is the guiding mission of the International School of Amsterdam. For years, SHARE has served as a catalyst for sparking positive change and action within, and beyond, the ISA international community.
In 1998, ISA launched SHARE, a collaborative working group of parent volunteers and members of the ISA faculty who coordinate the school’s many charitable initiatives. SHARE support’s ISA’s vision and beliefs by creating communities of lifelong learners who value compassion in their communities. Their aim is to support student initiatives by encouraging students and student groups, nurturing their ideas and by supporting student initiatives financially.
Making a difference
SHARE supports student projects by meeting, connecting and liaising with various students and student groups. The SHARE team works closely with both the CAS Coordinator (DP, grades 11-12) and the Service as Action Coordinator (MYP, grades 6-10) to help ensure that students meet their Service requirements. In addition, we work closely with the Communications Team to raise awareness regarding events and the charities that these groups support.
SHARE organises a number of fundraising and advocacy events throughout the school year, and with the earnings, have been able to generously contribute to student-initiated projects, both large and small. They support the celebrations of student service in the school and through local and global communities.
This continued commitment has allowed ISA students and the wider community to become involved with creating positive social change and to experience a personal impact from serving others.
